After our work on the Storyline Church brand identity and lobby, we were asked to create a supporting logo for the Storyline Kids ministry, as well as reimagine and redesign the kids space.

Our goal was to create an environment that felt imaginative and colorful, but still showcased curriculum content provided by the Storyline Kids staff. We dreamed up abstract nature-inspired elements and paired them with the concept of a mountain trail that kids can follow throughout the hallway. The result is an exciting and interactive space as dynamic and fun as the kids themselves.

We knew right away that we wanted to inject color into the Storyline Kids logo to set it apart from the greater Storyline Church identity.

The type treatment has movement and whimsy, which we balanced with the asymmetric container for ‘Storyline’ - inspired by US National Park signage.

The idea of a mountain trail came from the need to connect a list of 10 Foundational Truths - a core piece of curriculum taught to all age groups each Sunday - throughout the hallway.

We designed these custom house structures with signage inside, and connected them with a dashed trail on the concrete floor throughout the hall. Additionally, the corresponding icons help kids visually connect with each Foundational Truth no matter their age.

We redesigned the 4th and 5th grade classroom with custom stadium seating and a carpet treatment that mimics the look of grass.

The large floor-to-ceiling topographic map creates a bold, graphic look from the hallway. And the oversized stickers communicate more curriculum content in a kid-friendly way.

The kids hallway connects to the Storyline Students space, so we designed an oversized directional sign that wraps around the corner, making it visible from multiple angles.
